A spirited competition for students in grades 9-12. The CRCC fosters an interest in engineering by challenging students to create a machine that will accomplish a specific task using a series of steps. Students engage in a hands-on engineering and problem solving activity. Act 48 credit will be provided to teachers that attend the orientation and competition.

A competition of research projects in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering. Students in grades 6-12 take on the challenge of designing, implementing and communicating an original experiment. Act 48 credit will be provided to teachers that attend workshops in the Fall or during PRSEF.

SciTech events feature the growth areas of Pittsburgh: Biotechnology, IT, Robotics, Advanced Materials Processes, Environmental Technology, and Nanotechnology – and connect visitors with leading scientists and technologists in a fun, dynamic atmosphere. Choose a hands-on workshop, a large scale program and visit the interactive corporate and higher ed exhibits throughout the building. Act 48 will be provided to middle and high school teachers by attending SciTech Days, having students collect passport stamps at workshops and exhibits, and returning completed passport tear sheets.
