Buhl Academy, developed in 2014 to celebrate Buhl Planetarium's 75th anniversary, joins teachers, students, and real-world astronomers for classroom instruction. Buhl Academy is a groundbreaking – and FREE – way to bring regional astronomers, astrophysicists, and observers directly into local classrooms. We're seeking to foster the development and teaching of novel inquiry-based curriculum in astronomy and space science to students of all ages.
Students will enjoy working with astronomers and visiting the Science Center for free, all coupled with inquiry-based learning. They'll create an "Astronomy Minute" video, which may be shown at Buhl Planetarium!
Teachers give their students to opportunity to learn from real-world astronomy experts. Educators also get access to more than 133 classroom-tested astronomy activities and resources with curriculum support, plus Act 48 credits and the chance to network with nationally recognized astronomers and professionals.
