Refund Policy
Cancellations made 14 days in advance of the workshop date will receive a full refund. Cancellations not made 14 days in advance will not receive a refund.

Cancellation Policy
In case of insufficient registration, Carnegie Science Center reserves the right to cancel any program one week before it begins. All registered participants will receive a full refund.

Girls Workshops

Although these workshop fulfill Girl Scout requirements, they are available to all children.

Our workshops allow you to learn about tons of science topics, satisfy requirements, and bond with friends. In this perfect afternoon activity for Girl Scout Troops, girls will have a fun time discovering, learning, and gaining knowledge and character with friends as they become resourceful leaders!

Join a scheduled session on your own or with your troop. You can also schedule a private session for any of the workshops we offer with a group of 10 or more Scouts. Call for availability and additional details.

Cost: $22 per session unless otherwise noted.
Price includes all program materials, admission to the museum, and the associated patch.

*Journey workshop participants will receive a STEM fun patch

All programs except Journey workshops meet all badge requirements.

Brownie – Computer Expert
9 am – Noon
Become a computer expert as you explore the different ways you can use technology. Create and animate artwork, take a virtual trip through space, and design and play video games.

Requirements met during workshop: Computer Expert 1-5

Brownie – Wonders of Water Journey*
1 – 4 pm
Dive into your journey as you learn all about water and how to conserve it. Follow the path of water around the world, experiment with its amazing properties, and discover how you can make a difference.

Brownie - Home Scientist
9 am – Noon
Science surrounds us all the time! Use everyday items to experiment with static electricity, dabble in kitchen chemistry, and make art with bubbles.

Junior – Get Moving Journey*
1 – 4 pm
Get moving on your journey as you explore the world of energy! Make recycled paper beads, observe animals, and find out how to make an energy efficient building!

Brownie Robotics
1 – 4 pm
Foray into the fascinating world of robotics! Use Lego WeDo 2.0 kits to build and program a robot that moves and uses sensors to gather information from the environment. Scouts will receive the ‘Programming Robots’ patch upon completion.

Requirements met during workshop: Programming Robots 1-5

Daisy Robotics
1 – 4 pm
Learn about the purpose, parts, and programming of robots! Practice operating educational robots such as Bee-Bots, Cubelets, and Ozobots, and discover how they interact with the world. Scouts will receive the ‘How Robots Move’ patch upon completion.
