Bring your family or Scout troop for a night at the Science Center! There’s a terrific variety of themes to choose from.
All Science Center sleepovers include:
- A Movie in The Rangos Giant Cinema
- Themed activities

Engineering with Da Vinci Sleepover

Put on your thinking cap as you design, build, and test out feats of engineering genius inspired by Leonardo da Vinci. Defy gravity with a da Vinci bridge, test out catapults and trebuchets, and make a flying ornithopter.

Explore the wonders of the cosmos at this star-studded sleepover adventure. Identify celestial bodies in Buhl Planetarium, experiment with launch angles and propulsion methods, and see if you have what it takes to become an astronaut!

It’s a night of nonstop gaming fun! From giant Jenga to virtual reality mini-golf, explore games both old and new. Take part in a mini escape room, and play Mario Kart 8 on a giant screen!
Robot Roundup Sleepover

Calling all robot enthusiasts! Visit our Robot Hall of Fame and play air-hockey against a robot. Explore the science behind robotics as you experiment with Cubelets, navigate Sphero through obstacle courses, and carry out space missions with LEGO® Mindstorms EV3’s.

How to Train Your Dragon Sleepover

Experience the movie that launched the trilogy on our GIANT screen in The Rangos Giant Cinema, and explore the science behind dragons and Viking culture! Make a model dragon fly, investigate dragon eggs, write your name in runes, and race Viking ships.

Summer Solstice Sleepover

Conclude the longest day of the year with a night full of spectacular science activities. Investigate the Sun and other stars in Buhl Planetarium & Observatory, harness the power of the Sun to make s’mores, and explore the colors of sunrises and sunsets.

Peter Pan Sleepover
Sat., July 20
Take the second star to the right and straight on ‘til morning! See the matinee performance of Peter Pan at the Benedum Center, then head to the Science Center for a night of sleepover fun. Evening activities begin at 6 pm, and include experiments on flight, astronomy, and even some pirate science! It will be an awfully big adventure!

Fees
Groups need to provide one adult chaperone for every eight children. Families or those not part of a group must also have a parent or guardian present.
Schedule
Check-in begins at 6 pm the evening of your sleepover, where you will receive a detailed schedule of the night's happenings. The overnight experience will begin with a brief orientation, after which participants will enjoy a night of themed activities. Lights-out is at midnight. All sleepover gear must be removed from the building by 9:00 am, but you are welcome to stay the day after and explore even more with your general admission, included in your sleepover cost!
