Cancellation Policy
In case of insufficient registration, Carnegie Science Center reserves the right to cancel any program one week before it begins. All registered participants will receive a full refund.

Scouts BSA Workshops

The goal of Carnegie Science Center is to provide a safe, welcoming, and enriching experience for all of our program participants. With the health and safety of our community, visitors and team members, and their families in mind, Carnegie Science Center has decided to cancel all Scout Workshops for the spring. This decision is consistent with recommendations set forth by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the Allegheny County Health Department regarding social distancing at large events. Like all institutions, businesses, families and individuals, Carnegie Science Center is actively planning for safe and healthy operations during the emerging global COVID-19 pandemic. Please note: Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh are closed temporarily, including Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, Andy Warhol Museum, and Carnegie Science Center – The Rangos Giant Cinema, Mummies of the World exhibition, USS Requin (SS 481) submarine, and Highmark SportsWorks^®.

Looking for Scouts BSA and Cub Scout Workshops in Pittsburgh? Carnegie Science Center offers 15+ workshops every spring and fall for Scouts to work toward a variety of science-related badges. Led by teachers and certified merit badge counselors who really know science, the experience promises interactive and engaging lifelong learning!

Although these workshops fulfill Scouts BSA requirements, they are available to non-scouts of the appropriate age range.

Join a scheduled session on your own or with your Troop. You can also schedule a private session for any of the workshops we offer with a group of 10 or more. Register online or call 412.237.3400 to check availability, register over the phone, and ask for any more additional details. Advanced registration is required for all programming. You may also be interested in attending a Science Sleepover. Scroll down to see a list of badge workshops currently being offered.

Badge requirements that will be fulfilled are listed below. Additional badge requirements may need to be completed. A merit badge counselor will sign off on requirements completed during the workshop.
